Church Staff The Ministers of College Avenue Baptist Church are its many faithful members.  Assisting them are:   Dr. Chuck Brawley  - Sr.Pastor Dr. Charles “Chuck” Ray Brawley became the Pastor of College Avenue Baptist Church in November of 2010.  Pastor Chuck is a graduate of High Point University, and holds two Masters Degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas.  He earned his Doctor of Ministry from Gardner-Webb University in 2004.  Becky and Chuck were married on January 3, 1976 and have two married adult children, Stacy and Jason.  They also are blessed with six grandchildren.  Pastor Chuck was born in High Point, NC and has served churches in High Point, NC, Morgan Mill, Texas, Dundee, Florida, and Faith, NC before becoming Pastor of First Baptist Church. His philosophy of ministry is based on what Jesus described as the two greatest commandments: to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength; and to love your neighbor as you love yourself.  All the law and prophets are summed up in these two commandments.  Following these two commands, Pastor Chuck leads us into ministries that seek to meet the various needs of people by building caring relationships with them.  If you really care about people, you will do something about their needs.  We try to base the ministries of our church on the foundation of first loving God and then loving others.  This kind of love leads us to meet not only the physical and social needs of people, but more than that we are led by God’s Spirit to meet the spiritual needs of the people we meet.  Through our friendships and love for others we hope that they will see and meet Jesus.  Having a personal relationship with Jesus is the most important choice that a person can make.  Knowing Jesus gives us real life. David Everett - Minister of Worship and Discipleship   Rev. Everett joined the staff at College Avenue in the Spring of 2001.David and Rebecca have two sons, Simon and Collin, who are students at Hibriten High School. Barrett and Kerry Freeman - Minister to Youth & Children Barrett and Kerry met in Wilmington, NC in 2003, were married in 2006, on April Fools Day...yep...that's scary.  They have lived in the Blowing Rock area since 2006.  Barrett is the Associate Pastor for Youth and Children here at College Avenue and comes to our church with 10+ years of youth experience.  Kerry, is currently an 8th grade teacher at Hardin Park Elementary in Boone.  They have two ridiculously small and hyper dogs.
